Cirque du Jour: December 7-11, 2009
2 assemblies introduced the circus coaches in an action packed show that got the program started. This followed in a week-long series of workshops that were conducted in the students’ Physical Education classes. The students had the opportunity to work with professional Circus Performers. The Circus Finale focused on the 5th Grade class and was held at McKenna Elementary School on Friday evening for any and all family members. A fun time was had by all!
 
Leanora Knight – Books Alive:  January 19, 2010
3 assemblies by Mrs. Lee Knight and partner will introduce and kick off “PARP” week at our school. The theme for Parp this year is “Tales To Tackle”. Mrs. Knight will write all of her own songs geared towards this theme and get the students excited about reading. Reading logs and information will be handed out as well as a book for each student to start them on their journey to reading.
 
 
Karen Blackburn – AAA “Traffic Safety”: March 16, 2010
            3 assemblies will feature “Otto the Auto” a remote controlled talking car and “Bob the Puppet”. Bob and Otto will help the children learn about basic parking lot safety, sidewalk safety and making good choices about where to play. This program is very interactive and involves audience participation.
 
Allen Strauss – Game Show Brain Challenge: May 20, 2010
            3 assemblies will feature students actively participating in an educational and academic “Game Show”. Students will be provided with questions which will not only be grade level appropriate but follow their curriculum as well. The subject matter will be based on math, science, social studies, etc.
